Hey man, hope all is well. How's the piece going? I found out this week the Trap Jaw one I personally did for someone got sold on ebay. Yours is way more personal since it's you on the gecko. Luis, I've been good! The piece is staying with me no ebay sale here! I admire it everyday! Love looking at this thread the work you've been kicking out is bad ass!

I would have to say that Trap Jaw is my favorite piece in my entire collection...next to some os roughs which hold huge sentimental value for me. I don't know how many times I watched the YouTube video of mr Diaz slowly painting each layer of detail long before the piece was ever up for sale. I might have put it out to the universe. I study and worship the piece on a daily basis, it is too hard to capture its depth in photos. AND because of the HUGE generosity of a gpkuger (wayco) donating me frames, he will soon be behind museum glass and I will take him to be double matted!! I will post pics here when he's all ready. Yes, it sucks that the owner sold it, but it has indeed made my collection. When I saw him on eBay, I thought it couldn't be real... I jumped on it! I don't know what the situation of the previous owner was to have to sell, but I guarantee that he has found a permanent place on my wall. It was a twist of fate and a stroke of luck, but I feel like the original owner in a way. I LOVE the piece and try to keep him surrounded by many gpk friends

I think it looks better in person...not just saying it. You miss out on the build up of paint. I liked those old puzzles from the OS. You can see like every brushstroke. I LOVE the piece and try to keep him surrounded by many gpk friends That is all I really want from a collector of my art. So I don't have any issue with you, Krazy. I'm glad you appreciate the work I did for it. It was the first of the new ones I was working on and the guy who commissioned me not only was riding my ass a lot of the time when I was going to be finished with it, but to see he quickly turned around to sell for many more $$ than I generously sold it to him. I felt bad I was late so I upgraded all my currently sketch card commissions to full final art. I wanted to get more detail in these pieces. I hated doing faces smaller than my thumb. It was geting annoying. It felt like painting on a finger nail. I'm trying to avoid those situations. Anyways the guy later instead of apologizing or at least accepting what he did he just began to insult me. Like no one has said anything like that to me before...maybe in a long time. Either way he's a jerk and he's not the first to do that. He was just so f**cking excited or so I thought. He said he would treasure it for life and that sort of thing So it was a shock to have him make money out of my generosity. I thought many times of just giving his money back. My mistake. It was like a divorce where she took my money and ran. I'm really happy the art is with the right person, now... More stuff soon, but I may be away for a while. I'll be taking some trips around and won't have a place to work for a month. I may find some open days here and there, but it won't be until August. My girlfriend is an artist too and she's having her first major show next month. Thanks everyone for your many kind comments.

Concept by Subgenius. Originally he wanted a magnet. I thought it would be cooler with Magneto.

Thanks everyone for your many kind comments. wow, that's crazy the guy buying the piece went as far as to insult you, and then sell the piece shortly after...on top of being a dick throughout. i really can't understand 'flipping' art just for money...possibly cards, but art is much more alive and worthy of respect. anyway, how could you sell a piece like that made just for YOU? hahah im glad he did for my sake, but he's definitely the one who lost out in this situation. sorry to hear the circumstances involved in selling the piece, that was really cool of you to upgrade the sketch card subs to finals!! sounds like he made a fantastic situation into a completely negative one for no reason...rushing high creativity for some profit. anyone in that frame of negativity is already reaping their own karma. i really do love the piece...like i mentioned, those old youtube videos rock! so cool to see everything from your setup to actually putting down the acrylic. would love to see more of those if you ever had an opportunity completely floored by all the new creations...i love the lanscape/full scene concepts...there's so much going on anywhere you look! all the best to you and your girl with the travels and show!

I'll make some more videos in the future. I have a better camera and I think I can try to make a better set up while working. I used to paint live in art shows and it's kind of similar. It feels tougher slightly because the area is smaller and more precise.

Does anyone want to get a T-shirt with this artwork on it? There will be a limited T-Shirt run of this image available starting this Friday. I will post the link when it is up. I think it may only be up for that day, but I don't know. I'm not in charge of that. Let people know. If there is more demand then you may see more.
Also new prints were added to my store. My store will only be open for a short while.Store Necronomi-Kids copy by Luis Diaz Art, on Flickr
