Pack searching mini's is definitely different than searching cards in my opinion (unless you are mapping, then you're an arse). People can weigh, and grope their way to plates, and sketches, ect. With mini's you may be passing a black doug plug on your way to a fondled painted adam . It would be a whole different deal if you could slide figures to a viewable area to determine color! If you sit there and feel up every pack to find adam's and nick's i'd say it would be pack searching. It makes it tough for someone else to get said figures in a fair manner. For a little kid, i say go for it!!! (minikins packs... not cards!) Why you gotta bring up Doug Plug man? Too soon, too soon....

Packaging that allows certain figures to be felt without damaging the product = fair game, in my opinion. It would of course be unacceptable if someone damaged the goods by ripping open or defacing a pack, but there is a gigantic difference between doing that and simply squeezing a sealed pack. The question of whether it's a bit nuts for an adult to stand there squeezing them is a whole different deal, independent of whether or not there's any moral issue involved in doing so.
I'm thinking people who are most against the idea of feeling MiniKins packs tend to also be card collectors? I only collect toys, but from what I've been able to gather it seems to be a particular sore spot among card collectors. I don't know enough about card pack searching to even guess how that would work.

I don't see anything wrong in feeling the minikin packs too feel a certain figure, I've stood feeling packs of Lego mini figures for nearly half hour to find a certain figure I need lol Haha my Sister in law Did the exact same thing for the Olympic Lego Mini Figs I think it was.

And you just stood there, looking on, in voyeuristic decendence??? You have violated the Unwritten Law of Pack Searching Abstinence!! Now, go to your nearest toilet, and rinse you filthy hands in the sewage to wash away your cheating ways, may the stinch of the s**t water remind you of your neglect of the Garbage Pail Kids Morality and Oath and maybe, JUST MAYBE, you will be forgiven by your cyber 'friends and community.' I guess you'll think twice before watching and allowing such 'pack crimes' to occur in your presence again, "mister-I-let-kids-pack-search."

When I see a jumbo pack peg, and they all got russle muscle in the see threw spot. I feel um up pretty good to try and find a good'in and generally get two packs, when I hit a gravity feed I usually only fondle the first 5 or 6 packs, and pick three. And put the others back in the gravity feed i got them from. Virtually leaving no trail of fondleing, I don't fondle them all and put them other places. Or use mapping. All that being said I pre ordered 9 boxes and opened all them maybe only fondeling a box or two. Then I could almost tell what they'd be just by looking at them. So I think feeling up a few packs in store to build a army is just fine. I wouldn't do it to packs of card causing damage of any kind.

Did it again...2 nights in a row. This time grabbed 3 random ( no feeling them up) jumbo packs at a different Target and ended up with another yellow Adam bomb.

Mapping is something i read on a lego website. there's little raised or recessed bumps some-ware on every package. so that the machine that box these toys know what ones go wear, so's not to put the same blind pack in a certain box over and over and over again. the bumps are usually on the bottom or top of the package, where the seems are. I assume they use it during packaging to keep inventory kosher. but in theory the bumps are in a certain order, or pattern for every figure or in minikin packs, each 2 pack, that's why most of the time the same two figures get packaged together. but bacically someone cracks the code. and has a chart of all the bump patterns, in relation to the figures, and they look for the bumps versus fondling. so they know what they are getting before they buy it. imho looking for the bumps is alot harder then just giving the pack a nice little squeeze. I know the bumps are so faint that you can barly see them . or feel them. but if you look close enough they are their. Ive seen them on lego minifigure packs . but, i never really checked minikin packs. nor do i have any packages to check at the moment. If you ask me the whole idea of mapping such a thing is a totally insane way to do your collecting.

Last time my girlfriend and I were at target we stopped at the minikin box like we always do to get 2 or 3 packs. The first one we grabbed was open and had a yellow one. We bought it and 3 more packs. I don't feel it was wrong. We didn't open it. Not like we were finger banging the packages. Was that wrong or okay? I think it was okay, if target found it they would probably toss it or something.

Searching is searching and its wrong. Its cheating plain and simple. The only difference between kids and adults is that adults should know better. If you want to participate in a game of chance, then play by the rules. If you cheat, you ruin the fun for everyone. You think pack searching is some stupid little thing, and maybe it is, but the example you are setting is not a small matter. Entitlement and moral ambiguity.

It's going to be hard to not know that Fat Matt is in the pack. That fat f*** is huge. Looks about 4x bigger than the rest of the S2 minikins.

Yeah, what's amazing about Minikins and what alot of people I think are missing is that Minikins are scaled. Topps is showing us how many of these characters stack up compared to other characters. What some haters are describing as "uneven", "mixed matched", "inconsistent", etc in regards to the sizing and heights are actually an attempt by the designers to make a "real-to-life" scaled set, sort of like D&D cast figures are scaled, for example, but subtle.
