At what point do UG members think Gpk prices will stall and drop? Prices seem to be soaring out of control in the last year or so.. Wise to sell parts of my collection now and cash in? Or wait and see how crazy prices get? Your thoughts UG?

Selling is for sell outs! Unless of course you have a valid reason, like your broke, kids need braces....stuff like that. I will be buried with my original OS1 set, the rest belongs to one lucky UGer that I left in my will.

ive been selling all my random gpk stuff but im basically only going for art these days.
I wont be selling any of my full sets, full boxes because those are what got me here in the first place.
I dont have enough room to store all my stuff thats why i love art! it only takes up wall space

I wouldn't suggest selling your stuff unless you are done with collecting. I used to own an OS1 and OS2 final and sold them years ago. Now, I really wish I held on to them.

This is why there's that ol saying that goes "collect what you love and you'll never go wrong". Not sure if I could ever sell my master sets or my lovely little Thinn Lynns but in the name of my sweet Harley Davidson and an econemy that's damn near killed me, chewed me up and may soon be spitting me out I have parted with a lot of stuff I never thought I would have and have HATED to. It's been painful but with certain rare and limited items it's kinda nice to see pieces go onto other good peolple so others can enjoy them also. I have to at least tell myself that. lol. When it all comes down to it, we own nothing. We're just caretakers now of objects to be passed on to the future........ still hate sellin stuff though

I think i commented on a similar discussion on here last year. Probably one of the threads about the price of GPKs soaring. Personally I don't see them ever falling. Part of what will keep people looking for the original sets is the fact that they are still being made and new collectors are always gonna wanna look into where it all started. Not to mention the far superior quality of the art and concepts of the early series'. The market will fluctuate for sure over the yeas but it will never bomb completely and in the 15-20 years time these things will be more sought after and collectable than ever.

I think they will continue to fluctuate on an upward trend now. I'd say a healthy percentage of the OS stuff is now in the final collectors hands - and as long as demand outstrips supply, it always going to stay healthy.
Definately so for fairly mainstream stuff like OS series and the like, art... hard to say, probably the same though.
It went up when the ANS series were in production, and it's snowballed with BNS... as long as they keep producing, demand will be strong.
I can see OS series fetching wacky pack prices in 20 years.... the more time goes by the more get destroyed, lost, burned down, kids ruin daddy's collection and the like.
From my experience, there is no real cieling value that can be acheived with these things... look at rare albums going for $1000....
I was totalling up the value of my collection, must be worth a good few thousand now, and I have no original art, mainly plain old OS series from the US and UK, packs and boxes.
